 Craig Jones celebrates his goal.
A THREE-GOAL salvo inside 10 second-half minutes sent Nomads crashing to a shock 3-2 defeat at the hands of lowly NEWI Cefn Druids on Deeside. Peter Doran had seized on an error from keeper Carl Edwards to put Quay ahead straight from the second-half kick-off, but Mike Heverin and Mark Stewart then gave Druids the lead. Craig Jones levelled on 71 minutes with a header, but five minutes later Stewart grabbed his second of the night to give the Ancients the points. Match stats >> |

GAP Connah's Quay have terminated the contract of winger Craig Davies by mutual consent. The promising youngster, who has attracted the attention of AFC Bournemouth and TNS in his short time at the Nomads. has been hampered by injury since arriving at the Deeside Stadium. "Craig has been unlucky with injuries and we hadnt seen the best of him for sure, with the right type of advice Craig I am sure will do okay and we wish him well wherever he ends up next," says chief executive Stewart Roberts. "Steve O'Shaughnessy has more than enough quality to cope with the loss of Craig at this moment in time and with the transfer window in January not a million miles away he will also have the opportunity to strengthen in whatever area he feels necessary." |
